We Are NOT
A Shelter.
We Are A HOME.
Our Cats Are Not For Adoption
Why Are The Cats Not Available For Adoption?
Over 20 years ago when we started this journey we adopted the cats to families. Our plans were to spay and neuter them upon capture and then find them homes similar to other rescue operations. Over time we realized that the shelters were full and those cats needed homes. The cats that are at the humane society and animal control are kept in cages. They are not home. Our cats are home.
So we made a decision to change our course and philosophy and provided them a permanent place…a sanctuary. We encourage everyone who wants to add a cat to their family to go to animal control or their local humane society. You will be making a huge difference in the life of that one cat you rescue!
Do You Keep All The Cats For Life?
YES! Once they are adopted into our sanctuary it becomes their home. We offer care, love, food and a safe place until they move to the rainbow bridge. We are with them every step of the way. We have become very well known for superlative hospice care. We very carefully walk through that journey with them paying very close attention to when they tell us they are ready to go to their final home.
Where Do The Cats Come From?
Ninety-nine percent come to our property on their own. They come from homes that do not spay and neuter and the cats wander looking for food, shelter and warmth. Cats long to be loved and cared for. They search that out. About 85% that we capture are feral or at least very timid and over time they transform into loving creatures that feel very safe in their environment. It is so beautiful to watch that happen and to have the privilege to transform their lives!
Our Mission:
To provide a loving, safe, warm and clean home for cats who have no place to call home.
What We Provide:
Home. Their own building dedicated just for them. No Cages. Free to roam the entire sanctuary including an outside screen porch and enclosed play area.
They know and feel that this is their home. We are constantly adding things to make them feel even more at home – comfy blankets, water fountains, climbers, beds and lots of toys!
